Forks, Knives, and Spoons, 2006

Electric typewriter, spoons, tuning forks, stainless steel,

          aluminum, enamel paint.

Spoons attached to the “knives” of the electric typewriter strike 8 tuning forks, one for each whole note of the c scale. 

The design for the faux sound-holes gives the location of the root and octave of the scale at p and q; this also references the saying, “know your p’s and q’s.”
