Found wooden boxes and salvaged wood, cello strings, second-hand parts, electronics.

         Aside from the strings, this playable instrument was made entirely of found, salvaged, and used materials. 

       The neck was made from Ikea bed slats.

       The box-shaped body of the cello and amplifier were children’s physical therapy tools.

Using a veneer caliper, I took careful measurements off illustrations of cellos and used ratios to scale up the illustrations’ proportions to fit the found wooden box.
